We are so proud of Needles. If we were to decide on who to keep and sell based on Linear Appraisal scores, Shine would have been one of the young does to go. We know what we like and what we are looking for. Needles is one that we really like. Often some of the does that don’t bring home the ribbons are some of my favorite does. Health is the number one priority and production is the second priority. Needles has a 4.16% butterfat and 3.24 % protein. With these high percentages she may make top ten in butterfat and protein as a first freshener. Needles has a very wide rear udder a balanced udder when viewed from the side. Her fore udder is smoothly
blended into the body. She is a joy and easy to milk. Being a first freshener, I’m not sure if she has the rear udder support she will need for all the milk she will be producing. She is not a tall doe, yet one of the widest does with strength throughout. With this strength she still has dairy character. She has wide-open ribs and depth and angulation of body. Her rear legs, back and rump are some of her best qualities. She is very level with correct rear leg set. Her sire, Thingy is our dairy buck with many top-ten animals in his pedigree. Needles is bred to Gentry for April kids.
