I thought it was interesting that Lacey appraised the same as her dam as a kid and as a dry yearling. Lacey has open flat long ribs. She is a very flat boned doe. I think she is the most dairy yearling in the herd. We’ll see if that turns out when she freshens as a 2 year old this spring. She is the widest between the hocks and very wide in the escutcheon as her dam was. She’s a smoothly blended doe. Her biggest fault is her ears and they take away all the other great things about her. She has one of the best shoulder assemblies and tracks very straight. She is a deep-bodied doe. Lacey has tons of character. She loves to give me kisses or should I say she likes to bit my face. When she was a kid, I’d pick her up to hug her and she’d kiss and bite at my face. I loved it and it made me laugh. She is still doing that today. I can’t pick her up anymore, but I can still give her hugs.
